Riverbed/Seabed Physical Classification

Aqua Survey utilizes Depth sounders and side scan sonars to characterize the surficial physical grain size characteristics of the beds of ponds, lakes, streams, rivers, estuaries and oceans. In this application, large beds can be surveyed rapidly. After geophysical surveying, the bottom is grab sampled for grain size analyses. With specialty software (Quester Tangent™, RoxAnn™ or Geotexture™), like bedded areas can be identified. To like areas, grain size character can be accurately assigned. This form of mapping can affordably map surficial grain size of expansive beds. Grain size can be used to accurately predict the potential for contaminant loading. Hypack Max™ software is used for vessel control and tracking. RTK-DGPS or DGPS accuracy can be achieved.
