Key to the success of any bioaccumulation study is the health of the organisms. Each test must be designed to meet the survival needs of the test species. At the conclusion of each study, organisms must be externally washed to remove contaminants that may be temporarily associated with their bodies. Their digestive track must be purged to assure contaminants only passing through the animal are also removed. |
